As a Choir member during the past year, you know how important it is that each one of us attends rehearsals regularly so that the Choir can reach the level that our Music Director expects of us. Again this year, therefore, every member will be asked to adhere to the Choir's policy regarding attendance at rehearsals. Since we will have a third concert this year, we have made some changes to what we’d like to call our concert readiness policy:

Effective September 15, each choir member is responsible for being fully prepared for each concert. Thus, if a member misses more than THREE rehearsals during each period leading to a concert, is always late for rehearsals or leaves early, our music director could ask that person to ‘audition’ for him. If he feels that the chorister is not ready for the concert, he will not allow that singer to perform in that concert. This policy should help ensure that each choir member is fully prepared for every choir performance.

Other than the main requirement of attendance, each choir member is expected to take part in operational activities that are essential to maintaining the Choir. When you decide to register for the new season, it implies you agree not only to sing in the choir but also to take part in our fundraising activities, sell tickets for our concerts and that you are willing to make a special contribution in different areas (communications, operations, Friends of the Choir, etc.). As financial pressures continue to grow, the Choir's future depends increasingly on the efforts we make to promote it and obtain support from the community and cultural organizations. Each choir member is required to sell tickets for our concerts and to take part in our main fundraising activity : the mini-concerts of Christmas carols we give in different shopping centres in December each year.
